This month, Guthrie held a Customer Appreciation Week for courtesy service staff and bus drivers that included a new theme and food item every day of the week. Some of the food and themes were “Muffin to do but appreciate you" and "Let’s taco ‘bout how awesome you are".
Employees that visited the Guthrie Employee Benefit and Wellness fairs last week in Sayre and Corning had the opportunity to learn about their employee benefits, community resources, Guthrie services and receive their flu shot. The theme for the fairs this year was "Musicals". Over 800 flu shots were administered between the two fairs and more than 20 vendors attended. Thank you to all who helped make these fairs a success.
Foggy Hollow owners, Mike Epler and Susan Hinkson invited the residents of Guthrie Personal Care Home for a hayride and lunch in the beautiful fall outdoors. Transportation was provided by Kay McNeal Busing. Click here to view the GTMH Personal Care Home Workplace group to view more photos.
Guthrie Skilled Nursing Unit and Personal Care Home residents attended an end of summer block party with a jungle theme and lots of decorations. The Ross Zoo attended the party and brought along a hedgehog, snake, chicken, turtle and alligator. The residents were able to pet the animals and learn a bit about them from the zoo employees. There were also some residents that got to share a dance with a "Gorilla". The party was a fun time for both staff and residents.
The refreshed tobacco policy has been in effect at Guthrie Corning Hospital since July 1 and across the system since Sept. 1. Thank you to all who have supported this important initiative, and who are actively working to create a healthier environment for our patients, visitors, employees and the communities we serve.
Residents at the Personal Care home recently enjoyed an end of summer Hawaiian party. The event included a Hawaiian lunch as well as themed games, such as a pineapple toss. Residents learned a hula dance and wore flowers and leis. Thank you to Bev Brennr and Diane Bahr, who organized the party.
