Back Pain Centers of America, which connects people searching for solutions to their neck and back pain with a reputable physician in their area, announces that the Guthrie Spine Center is the winner of the 2017 Awards of Excellence for the Patient Growth Award. This award recognizes the practices which have demonstrated high growth and healthy growth in a calendar year.
In the health care industry, we rely heavily on technology and access to instant information. The threat to security of online information is always increasing and protecting patient health information has become increasingly challenging. It is our duty at Guthrie to increase our IT security beyond our Compliance, Privacy, and Security departments, and all staff members must do their part to protect patient information and know how to access, transfer and store data appropriately.
The first of two campus wide power outages will occur Friday, June 23 beginning at 10 p.m. and will last 4-6 hours. The outage will affect all buildings on the Sayre campus. The emergency generators will be engaged at approximately 7 p.m. Advanced notice will be given to departments prior to generator start up. Please remember to turn off all computers that are not in use to prevent any lost information. Also make sure that computers which are required to stay on are plugged into an emergency power outlet (red outlets).
Guthrie's Community Training Center will offer free non-health care provider CPR classes during the next two months. The classes will include information on how to help a choking adult as well as child and infant CPR. These classes will be open to the public. The annual Culture of Safety Survey is a tool that Guthrie uses to hear our employees’ perception of safety issues across the organization. The security teams at Guthrie locations work hard to keep employees and patients safe when they are at Guthrie. They strive to respond to all calls and handle issues quickly and efficiently. There are some things that may occur on campus, which security may not be aware of. If all staff members are vigilant and report possible security issues, it helps make Guthrie safer for everyone.
Employees must receive their flu shot before Dec. 1 or they will be unscheduled from work beginning Dec. 2. If you have not yet obtained your mandatory annual flu shot as part of the employee flu shot program, please click here to check the schedule of flu shot clinics to find the remaining available flu shot times. More than 80% of employees have already received their shot, but there are still many who need to get it. If you have not yet, please take a moment to get your flu shot.
