The Tioga County Department of Health recently recognized Guthrie Waverly Clinic for Excellence in Public Health for increasing Hepatitis B immunization rates. Immunizations are considered a Top Ten Public Health Achievement. Congratulations to the Guthrie Waverly team!

Leigh Mosier, a local thirty-one® independent consultant with a passion for helping cancer patients, delivered more than 100 thirty-one® totes filled with personal care items this week. The bags will be presented to cancer patients currently receiving treatment at the Guthrie Cancer Center locations in Sayre and Corning. Leigh has been supporting cancer patients at Guthrie with these special deliveries since 2015.  Thank you, Leigh!

Members of the Guthrie Care Coordination program recently took advantage of the direct access to Mayo Clinic by requesting and attending a focused, comprehensive Care Coordination immersion experience at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn. Care Coordination is a key component of Guthrie's population health management initiatives and is led by our primary care providers using state of the art technology and community resources to establish high-quality, low-cost care.

Residents at Guthrie Towanda Personal Care Home and the Skilled Nursing Unit at Guthrie Towanda Memorial Hospital are making the most of summer with lots of fun events.

Guthrie Personal Care Home residents working on their balcony garden where they grow their own vegetables. Mike Namet has donated his time, talent, and his plants for their Balcony Garden for the last three years.

This award recognizes the practices which have demonstrated high growth and healthy growth in a calendar year.

Representatives from Williams Subaru in Sayre and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Pennsylvania visited the Cancer Center in Sayre to donate blankets and messages of hope for cancer patients. The visit is part of a national partnership between Subaru and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Thank you to both groups for your generosity.

As part of their Silver Award Project, Girl Scouts in Troop 41227 donated two Adirondack chairs, five tied fleece blankets and one quilt to Sayre House of Hope. They also held food and household items drives at several locations in the valley. Their efforts have helped replenish House of Hope’s cupboards, and provided large amount of items for the baskets of toiletry items for the families that stay there.
