Onondaga-Cortland-Madison Board of Cooperative Services (OCM BOCES) honored Guthrie Cortland Medical Center recently with the Business and Community Partnership of the Year Award. This was awarded to GCMC for hosting and providing job-shadowing experiences for the New Vision Medical Professions students from the Cortland area. GCMC has hosted the students for 28 years. The Tioga County Department of Health recently recognized Guthrie Waverly Clinic for Excellence in Public Health for increasing Hepatitis B immunization rates. Immunizations are considered a Top Ten Public Health Achievement. Congratulations to the Guthrie Waverly team!
Leigh Mosier, a local thirty-one® independent consultant with a passion for helping cancer patients, delivered more than 100 thirty-one® totes filled with personal care items this week. The bags will be presented to cancer patients currently receiving treatment at the Guthrie Cancer Center locations in Sayre and Corning. Leigh has been supporting cancer patients at Guthrie with these special deliveries since 2015. Thank you, Leigh!
Members of the Guthrie Care Coordination program recently took advantage of the direct access to Mayo Clinic by requesting and attending a focused, comprehensive Care Coordination immersion experience at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn. Care Coordination is a key component of Guthrie's population health management initiatives and is led by our primary care providers using state of the art technology and community resources to establish high-quality, low-cost care.

Back Pain Centers of America, which connects people searching for solutions to their neck and back pain with a reputable physician in their area, announces that the Guthrie Spine Center is the winner of the 2017 Awards of Excellence for the Patient Growth Award. This award recognizes the practices which have demonstrated high growth and healthy growth in a calendar year.
Representatives from Williams Subaru in Sayre and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Pennsylvania visited the Cancer Center in Sayre to donate blankets and messages of hope for cancer patients. The visit is part of a national partnership between Subaru and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Thank you to both groups for your generosity.
As part of their Silver Award Project, Girl Scouts in Troop 41227 donated two Adirondack chairs, five tied fleece blankets and one quilt to Sayre House of Hope. They also held food and household items drives at several locations in the valley. Their efforts have helped replenish House of Hope’s cupboards, and provided large amount of items for the baskets of toiletry items for the families that stay there.
