Community members are invited to a special health screening event at Guthrie Towanda Memorial Hospital in September. Attendees can receive a variety of informational and diagnostic tests at discounted rates during the event from 6 - 9 a.m. on Sept 15-17.

A newly renovated area at Guthrie Towanda Memorial Hospital is now open for interventional pain services.

This new space will allow for the expansion of Guthrie's interventional pain services in Towanda. Guthrie providers are now seeing patients for office visits and procedures on Wednesdays and Fridays. Guthrie’s interventional pain management program provides minimally invasive, non-surgical techniques and treatment options for patients with chronic pain.

On Aug. 17, the SNU had their annual summer block party. Residents from Guthrie Towanda Personal Care Home also joined the fun, which included entertainment by Bob Brennan, Ike Bower, and the River City Trio. This year’s theme was the Olympics and residents enjoyed crafts, games, and dancing.

Guthrie Personal Care Home residents enjoyed the Troy Area Agency on Aging picnic, featuring local celebrity Aaron Kelly.

The Nurse-Family Partnership (NFP) at Guthrie Towanda Memorial Hospital recently hosted a “Mommy and Me” essay contest for all of the program’s current participants. The contestants were asked to write about their experiences as first-time mothers enrolled in the Nurse-Family Partnership program. Entries were judged by the Community Advisory Board of NFP as well as Guthrie Towanda Memorial Hospital Administration. The winner, selected from ten entries was Chelsea Wahlig of Athens, Pa. Chelsea will receive a photo session at her home donated by Lisa Howeler.
