On Sept. 5 only, staff who report to work may park in the employee parking on the Guthrie Sayre Campus or in the Wilbur Ave. lot. Due to limited staffing, there may be longer than usual wait times for the shuttle service during the remainder of the week, September 6 - 9, in the morning hours. The Trauma Center at Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital treats patients with life-threatening injuries, many caused by motor vehicle crashes. Distracted driving contributes to a large number of motor vehicle-related injuries.

Guthrie and Hanger Clinic hosted a special presentation for staff this week focused on the recovery journey of a local teacher who received trauma services at Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital. The event featured former trauma patient Jeremiah Serfas of Sayre, Pa. and Guthrie vascular surgeon, Dr. Lawrence Sampson. They both spoke about the 2011 accident that brought Serfas to Guthrie, its immediate aftermath, and Serfas’ ongoing recovery.
The Guthrie Clinic Pharmacy has recently started a new prescription delivery service for inpatients at Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital, called 'Meds to Beds'. Patients admitted to the hospital can have the medications prescribed by their physician delivered straight to their room before they are discharged. The 'Meds to Beds' program aims to reduce readmissions to the hospital by ensuring our patients are able to take their medications as prescribed.

The Volunteer Services Department does many jobs for departments throughout the Sayre campus that require paper clips. If you to have any extra large paperclips in your area, please send them to Volunteer Services.
Congratulations to Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital Emergency Department nurses, Tasha Tambeau and Kathy Crockett, who recently obtained their Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN). Both completed an extensive examination given by the Board of Certification for Emergency Nursing to receive the certificate.
