On Sept. 4, Guthrie will launch the third commercial in its latest Brand campaign to the public. The new spot, focusing on the convenience of online scheduling and eGuthrie, continues the story of the family we met in the Guthrie Now and Mayo Clinic Care Network commercials that debuted in the spring. Our very own Dr. Lee Meyers, lead physician of Family Medicine in Wellsboro, also makes an appearance. All three brand commercials will run on TV and radio for eight weeks this fall. The campaign also includes billboards and digital advertising. Please enjoy this sneak peek!
Guthrie is asking patients, employees, and the Twin Tiers community to nominate Guthrie providers for the Donald Guthrie Distinguished Provider Award. This award recognizes providers who have gone above and beyond to provide outstanding service that has made a meaningful difference to the patients we care for.
Any Guthrie provider can be nominated. Nominations need to include the name of the provider as well as information on how that provider made an impact on your, or a loved one’s, life. Nominations may be made anonymously and do not have a required word limit.
Guthrie will host an Opioid Take Back Day on Tuesday, Sept. 15 at the Clinic Pharmacy on the Sayre Campus. On this day, employees and community members are encouraged to clean out unneeded medications from their medicine cabinets and drop them in the MedSafe bin at the pharmacy to be disposed of properly.
Come out and enjoy a night to support the Sayre House of Hope and all the families this facility has helped. This will be a night you will always remember, with friends you will never forget while benefiting Guthrie’s patients and families in their time of need. Tickets for the Guthrie Gala are on sale at the Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital Gift Shop, by visiting www.guthrie.org/gala, or by contacting Nichole Cocco in Resource Development at 570-887-4420. Sponsorship opportunities are still available.
Guthrie physicians, Dr. Jeffery Alwine, sports medicine and Dr. Andrea Worley, pediatrics, spent some time talking about back to school, sports safety and answering patient questions during a live video on Facebook this week. Check out the Guthrie Health Facebook page to view the replay.
On Oct. 3, Guthrie will be going live in Epic with ACR Select imaging decision support. ACR Select utilizes evidence-based appropriate use criteria (AUC) to determine if an imaging order is appropriate based on the patient’s age, gender and reason for exam. This change is in response to upcoming CMS mandates for AUC for PET CT, CT, MRI and nuclear medicine procedures for technical reimbursement. This change will assist providers in ensuring high quality imaging care to improve patient outcomes and decrease costs.
There are only 15 days left until the 2017 Guthrie Gala. All proceeds from the Guthrie Gala support the Sayre House of Hope which provides comfort, compassion, and support during some of our patients' most difficult times. The Sayre House of Hope is celebrating its 10-year anniversary this year. Get your tickets now and become a part of their legacy.
