The FY 2018 Annual Compliance & HIPAA Training, which is mandatory for all Guthrie employees, is now available on Guthrie Learn. We encourage all staff to complete this as soon as possible. Guthrie offers scholarships to area high school seniors who are planning a career in health care. Students must be a member of the Class of 2018 and enroll in a health-related program of study.
There are also a limited number of Guthrie Employee Scholarships for the children of Guthrie employees. The employee must be a .6 FTE or greater and have one or more years of employment with Guthrie. These scholarships will support any field of study.

The Guthrie Breast Cancer Services in Sayre has been granted a three-year/full accreditation designation by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC), a program administered by the American College of Surgeons. Accreditation by the NAPBC is only given to those centers that have voluntarily committed to provide the highest level of quality breast care and that undergo a rigorous evaluation process and review of their performance.
The Guthrie Veterans Committee will again host a poppy display contest in advance of Veterans Day this year. Each department in the organization is challenged to create a display with 50 red poppies, which can be placed in break rooms or patient waiting areas to honor employees in your team who are current service members or veterans, or who have family members in the military. This year's theme is “We Support Them”.
Due to the confidential HR personnel files housed onsite in this area, the 3rd level of the Guthrie Foundation building will now require badge access, effective immediately, to safeguard the security of employee’s private information. If you need to access to this area, please report to the Human Resources Reception desk on the 2nd level to be announced and greeted at the elevator on the 3rd level. All employees and visitors must use the main entrance when entering the Foundation building.
Over $100,000 was raised for the Sayre House of Hope at the annual Guthrie Gala which was held on Sept. 9 in Sayre. The Gala was sponsored by Title Sponsor Elderwood at Waverly and VIP Sponsors Korn Ferry and L&S Development, and was attended by over 300 guests.
House of Hope Resident Manager, Elizabeth Hibbard said, “The overwhelming support from all of the event attendees and sponsors is awe-inspiring. Sayre House of Hope is proud to be the recipient of such generosity and we look forward to supporting many more families in their time of need.”
Guthrie Towanda Memorial Hospital Auxilary is holding their annual Talent Show on Wednesday, Oct. 18 at 7 p.m. at the Towanda High School. Dr. Mustafa Aman, Guthrie Weight Loss Center bariatric surgeon, will be presenting “New and Emerging Technologies” at the upcoming Obesity Symposium. The event will be held on Saturday, Sept. 16, from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Arena in Binghamton.
