linensThe Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital Auxiliary will host a Geneva Linen sale on Thursday, Oct. 25 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Friday, Oct. 26 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital cafeteria.

The sale will feature quilt sets, Sherpa throws and blankets, sheets sets 1200 series and bamboo memory pillows. These make fantastic holiday gifts. You won’t want to miss it!

Every month, Guthrie Corning Centerway selects one employee who exhibits excellent communication, patient-centeredness, professionalism, teamwork, respect and dignity to "every patient, every time" to receive the Employee of the Month award. The September winner was Joy Halliday, LPN in Pulmonary. 

Joy was nominated by a patient who said, “Joy communicates and goes above and beyond to see that patients are taken care of."

Guthrie will host a free community nutrition class on Wednesday, Oct. 10.

The class, presented by Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital Food and Nutrition Department, will be held in the Patterson Auditorium on Guthrie’s campus in Sayre, Pa. from 5-6:30 p.m. Participants will learn how to make healthier food choices and will work through a series of interactive activities.

mayo imageMark your calendars for Sept. 25. The Guthrie Clinic is a proud sponsor of the Ken Burns’ documentary about Mayo Clinic airing on Sept. 25 at 9 p.m. with an encore presentation Sept. 26.

Dr. Guthrie did his residency at Mayo Clinic and two generations of Mayo family members trained at Guthrie Clinic. This shared history will highlighted on WSKG Public TV & Radio in a video vignette after the Burns’ documentary.

A special landmark on the Guthrie Sayre campus has a new home. The Tree of Life, which was located in front of the Emergency Department, was moved this month to its new home, in front of the School of Nursing. The move is permanent and was necessary to allow for renovations to the RPH Emergency Department.
