On Aug. 17, the SNU had their annual summer block party. Residents from Guthrie Towanda Personal Care Home also joined the fun, which included entertainment by Bob Brennan, Ike Bower, and the River City Trio. This year’s theme was the Olympics and residents enjoyed crafts, games, and dancing.
The Auxiliary at Guthrie Troy Community Hospital will commemorate its 60th anniversary with a luncheon and celebration on Tuesday, Sept. 27 at the Troy Baptist Church on Canton Street in Troy. The event will begin at noon and include a lunch catered by In His Services and entertainment by Martha Kress. All current and former members of the Auxiliary are encouraged to attend. The Nuclear Medicine department at Guthrie Corning Hospital recently received a three year term of accreditation from the American College of Radiology (ACR). The ACR gold seal of accreditation represents the highest level of image quality and patient safety. It is awarded only to facilities meeting ACR Practice Parameters and Technical Standards after a peer-review evaluation by board-certified physicians and medical physicists who are experts in the field.
The Guthrie Clinic Pharmacy has recently started a new prescription delivery service for inpatients at Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital, called 'Meds to Beds'. Patients admitted to the hospital can have the medications prescribed by their physician delivered straight to their room before they are discharged. The 'Meds to Beds' program aims to reduce readmissions to the hospital by ensuring our patients are able to take their medications as prescribed.

On August 1, 1907 the very first iteration of the US Air Force was formed as a division of the US Army by an act of Congress. This division would become a separate military branch in 1947, and has since become the largest of the world's air forces.

Volunteer Services at Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital is in need of large paper clips. The Volunteer Services Department does many jobs for departments throughout the Sayre campus that require paper clips. If you to have any extra large paperclips in your area, please send them to Volunteer Services.
Each year, the Auxiliary at Guthrie Troy Community Hospital awards a scholarship to a senior from Canton High School and a senior from Troy High School. The winners are students in the upper one-third of their graduating classes, and they must also be active in community activities. Their college plans must include a course of study in the medical field at an accredited college or university. This year’s recipients were Elena Breese of Troy and Lacey Castle of Canton.
