Employees with a Paid Time Off (PTO) balance above the maximum allowed carryover as of the end of the last full pay period of the fiscal year (June 29, 2019) will have their PTO adjusted down to the maximum.
Guthrie Good Grief Day Camp registration is now open. The camp is for children ages 6 through 18 who have experienced the death of a loved one. It will be held June 18-20 at the Vesper Church Spiritual Life Center in Standing Stone, Bradford County. The camp helps children with grief and bereavement through play, art, music and activities. In its 20th year, the camp is offered free of charge with support from Guthrie Hospice and Bradford County Human Services Development Fund. Pre-registration is required by June 15.
Grace McQueen, mother of Guthrie Cortland Medical Center (GCMC) RN Bonnie Baker, moved to stay at the GCMC Residential Care Facility after suffering injuries from a fall. Grace was a lifelong fabric artist and made hundreds of art pieces of different types. In 2018, her health declined, and she was moved to long term care at Cedar Run where she died peacefully in November of that year.
As part of Health Care Week 2019, come cheer on our Guthrie leaders as they battle for bragging rights in the kitchen. The Battle of the Chefs will take place on Thursday, May 16 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. in the Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital Cafeteria. Chefs will be presented with the same recipe and ingredients given a brief time to prepare the dish. Judges will choose a winner at 12:15 p.m.
Save These Dates! Join Guthrie EVP and Chief Operating Officer Paul VerValin and leaders at each Guthrie hospital as they host town hall meetings. Paul will discuss the state of the business across the Guthrie system and will host an open dialogue.
The Administration Team at Guthrie Corning Hospital recently hosted the monthly “Tuesday Tea”. This event gives employees the opportunity to visit different areas of the hospital to learn more about that department’s functions.
Guthrie Cortland Medical Center now has their very own Guthrie bus. When registrants for the Cortland Adult Day Health Care and Short-Term Rehabilitation programs ride the bus, they’ll be riding in Guthrie style. Another great way for us to share our affiliation evolution with our community!
