Guthrie LPNs Amanda Brown and Mary Irvin are recognized for having the highest score in the Sayre Cardiology Hypertension Best Practice Alert (BPA) initiative. This initiative was for nurses who recognized one of these alerts in Epic and responded and documented appropriately. Congratulations to these members of the team.

Guthrie’s Mark Stensager Human Service Fund is providing financial assistance to those impacted by the recent floods. Requests for awards of up to $500 per eligible household are being considered on a first-come, first-served basis due to limited funding.
To be eligible, you must have sustained major flood damage, have receipts or estimates for damages related to recent flooding, be an individual, not a business and live in a community where Guthrie offers medical care.
The Guthrie Adopt-A-Hallway Program is an opportunity to show your pride in our facility, and to offer a welcoming environment to our patients, visitors and families. This program is a collaborative effort between the Environmental Services Team, the Maintenance Team and the Sponsoring Department/Unit. Sponsors are recognized with a sign in the adopted area.
Staff are encouraged to join in Guthrie’s recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Wear pink on Oct. 19 and snap a photo of you or your team with a camera or smart phone. Add your photos to the One Guthrie group on Workplace or email them to Corporate_Communications@guthrie.org to be included in a photo album on the Guthrie Facebook page.
This year, International Infection Prevention Week (IIPW) will raise awareness about the important role we all play in preventing the spread of infection and promoting patient safety.
Join us in thanking our Infection Prevention Team at Guthrie for all it does to keep patients safe by protecting them from infection. Infection Preventionists (IPs) are our facility’s “infection detectives,” finding germs and ensuring healthcare personnel are doing their part to improve patient safety and care.
Guthrie will implement an Enterprise-based budget and planning system to help streamline planning and forecasting processes in the upcoming budget cycle. The new system, Oracle's Enterprise Performance Budget Cloud Service (EPBCS), will be used to build and submit budgets for approval. The cloud-based tool will allow users greater access to the budgeting process and streamline updates and approvals through the entire budgeting process.
The Annual Guthrie United Way Campaign starts today and runs until Nov. 2.

In honor of Veterans Day on Nov. 11, Guthrie is collecting a "Tribute to the Troops" honoring employees or their family members who are serving or have served in the armed forces. This tribute will be posted on Workplace as well as in Friday Facts on Nov. 9.
As you know, in September 2017, Cortland Regional Medical Center and Guthrie announced the signing of a non-binding letter of intent that outlined plans to move toward a definitive affiliation agreement. I am pleased to announce that the affiliation between The Guthrie Clinic and Cortland Regional Medical Center has been approved by the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) and the Public Health and Health Planning Council (PHHPC). With this approval in place, we are cleared to move forward with all the regulatory filings and other actions necessary to finalize the closing.
