As of Wednesday, May 15, the Corning Hospital Clinical Engineering department has migrating their Clinical Engineering work request application from Lotus Notes to Sharepoint. When you select the link from the intranet page you will be directed to a Sharepoint list, as seen below.
To add a new Clinical Engineering work request, click the plus sign next to the word “New”. This will open a form. Fill out the form completely and click the “Submit" button. Upon submitting the request, you will be returned to the Sharepoint list where you will see your entry.
Towanda Skilled Nursing and the Personal Care Home celebrated Nursing Home Week with a full schedule of activities for the residents. Activities included a spa day, beach party, bingo and patriotic day.
The Valley Running Club is celebrating National Running Day with a group run/walk and social event on Wednesday, June 5 at 6:30 p.m. at Riverfront Park in Sayre, Pa. Runners and walkers are encouraged to meet at the Riverfront Park pavilion to enjoy the beautiful Diahoga Trail. This is the perfect opportunity to begin training for the Guthrie Turkey Trot.
Bruce Askey, NP in Bariatrics, was guest faculty at the recent National Conference for Nurse Practitioners. The meeting was held last week in Chicago.
He presented two topics: “Obesity: Why are we losing the war?” and “Smash the NASH, a practical approach to the management of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease”. The national meeting was attended by approximately 1,500 nurse practitioners from around the United States and abroad.
The Cancer Center will have t-shirts for sale outside the cafeteria at Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital on Friday, May 24. The sale will start at 7 a.m. and run until 3 p.m. or while supplies last. All proceeds will support the Survivor’s Day event. SM - Xl: $10; 2XL $12.
Survivor's Day is an annual, nationwide celebration of life to recognize the cancer survivors and guests in our community. The Survivors Day Celebration is June 2, 2019.
As part of the recent National Health Care Week, Guthrie Cortland Medical Center’s Adult Day Health Care registrants and administration collected socks for families in need. The Heat the Feets donations with be distributed by the Community Action Program of Cortland. Thanks to the team’s hard work, over 126 pairs of new socks will be donated!

Join us for this educational event on Monday, June 3 at 5:30 p.m. in the Patterson Auditorium on the Guthrie Sayre campus. This program counts for 3.0 Continuing Education Contact Hours.

Congratulations to Loni Donahue, PTA and Terri DeLacuadra, PT, from Guthrie Cortland‘s Outpatient Rehabilitation Services, on receiving their Lymphedema Certification from the Klose Training Program. Lymphedema is a chronic condition that can cause swelling in the arms or legs. This certification will help these providers to more safely and effectively treat patients with lymphatic disorders.
