Super User and End User Training registration is open in Guthrie Learn. Our goal is that by November 15, all Epic Super Users will be registered for training. The target date for End User Training registration is November 30. Meeting these target dates, will give managers time to assess and coordinate scheduling and backfill needs. Please discuss with your manager and register for your Super User and End User classes.

The Guthrie Wellness Incentive may be one of the easiest ways around to earn $300. The wellness incentive is a cash payment to employees who take certain steps to manage their health. To claim the incentive, you must log in to your account at highmarkbcbs.com and click on “Rewards Program” on the member home screen under “Wellness Programs”.

To earn $125 through the incentive just receive a regular wellness exam including a biometric screening from a Guthrie provider.  You may have already done this and just need to log in to your account at highmarkbcbs.com.

Beginning on Nov. 1, all Guthrie vendors will be required to register and check in with RepTrax, a software system that Guthrie is now using to manage vendors. As part of the system, Vendors at all four Guthrie hospitals and the Big Flats Surgical Center will need to visit a kiosk each day that they are at Guthrie to print a badge. If you work with vendors, please help to educate them about this new system.

As part of Guthrie’s recognition of Veteran’s Day in November, a “Thank a Veteran” form is now available for staff. Click here to submit your word of thanks to a Guthrie veteran. The messages will be compiled and sent to Guthrie’s Veterans on Veteran’s Day. Please submit your thank you notes before Nov. 1.

Start your journey today! A new session of Weight Watchers Beyond the Scale/Smart Points will run on Thursdays from Nov. 3 to Dec.15 (6 sessions) in the Patterson Building, Nursing Lecture Room at the Guthrie Sayre Campus.  Meetings will be at 5:15 p.m. At least 15 members are needed for the group to become a reality. Cost is $60 prepaid per person (Visa, Master Card, Cash or Check) Weekly weigh in and meeting will take about 30 minutes of your time.

Guthrie will host a free community seminar on breast cancer screening, management and treatment on Wednesday, Oct. 26. The seminar will be held from 5 – 6 p.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn at 35 Arnot Road in Horseheads. Presenters Dr. Geneva Ballard  and Dr. M. Firdos Ziauddin  will discuss the importance of screenings, breast management and breast cancer treatment options for all women.

The Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital Safety Circle is having a safety poster contest that is open to all Guthrie employees. The contest theme is "You see something, you say something." To enter, draw a picture showing a potential safety hazard and/or how to report it. The poster should be 8 1/2" x 11" and the deadline for submissions is Nov. 1. Entries can be mailed to Kevin VanHorn in the Safety and Security team at Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital.
