Guthrie is now piloting a team-based nursing care model on select units at Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital and Guthrie Corning Hospital. This model uses teams of one RN, one LPN, and one Care Partner or two RNs, depending on the unit, working together to care for a group of patients. In addition, it also utilizes the diversity of skills, education and qualification levels of the entire staff, with the goal of providing exceptional care and continuity for patients, allowing them to know their care team.
Microsoft Office Training will be available through the Guthrie IS Department live on Teams and will cover a wide range of topics including Teams, Telecommuting, Planner and more. Each training is open to all but limited to 300 people per session. Each session will be recorded and shared on Workplace for those who cannot attend.

Guthrie’s Community Benefit Grant Program awarded $2,880 to the Bradford County Branch YMCA in support of affordable fitness for clients in drug and alcohol recovery. The YMCA will use the funds to assist clients/members in recovery through fitness and establish YMCA as a safe, sober environment.
Epic is continuously developing to keep up with the current health care environment and these updates are necessary to keep Guthrie's Epic as current as possible. The Epic IT team has been working on implementing the newest features offered in Epic with the upcoming quarterly upgrade.
Dr. Joseph Scopelliti announced the public launch of Guthrie’s Forward Together campaign, generously supported by a lead gift of $1 million from The Kenneth & Caroline Taylor Family Foundation. In honor of Ken and Caroline Taylor’s longtime support and generosity, Guthrie also announced the naming of the expanded and renovated Emergency Department at Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital as the Taylor Family Emergency Department at Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital.

The Guthrie Weight Loss Center and Wellness Committee will host a virtual Food Farm Family Festival beginning on Saturday, August 15. The virtual event will promote healthy living and provide links to online resources including educational videos, demonstrations, and local vendors selling healthy produce and other goods.
The event, usually held in Howard Elmer Park, will be held virtually this year to comply with social distancing guidelines related to COVID-19. We will be bringing you more details in the coming weeks.
The annual training modules have been assigned to you and are available via Guthrie Learn. They are due to be completed no later than October 31. This year, the annual training modules are 15 minutes less in length and yet remain compliant with all regulatory requirements. In an effort for managers to be prepared for the annual training, we’ve provided a document that provides a simple step-by-step approach on how to review direct reports, change reporting relationships in Peoplesoft, and leverage team monitor in Guthrie Learn to view status of completions.
