The Guthrie Physician Recruitment team have has recently won seven national awards at the recent Healthcare Advertising Awards for their marketing design efforts. The team received the following awards:
The DAISY Award is a national program that rewards and celebrates the extraordinary clinical skill and compassionate care given by nurses every day. The founders of the program use the award to recognize extraordinary nurses everywhere who make an enormous difference in the lives of so many people. At Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital, the DAISY is awarded quarterly.
Guthrie Corning Hospital has been named one of America’s Best Hospitals for Patient Safety by the Women’s Choice Award®. The award signifies that Guthrie Corning Hospital is in the top 15% of 3,005 U.S. hospitals for patient safety.
It is that time of year of again when we take time to honor some of our most dedicated and valued team members – our volunteers. National Volunteer Week runs from April 23-29. Our volunteers give their time and work tirelessly in all types of roles to support our staff and patients. Since 1989, the L. Marilyn Taylor Memorial Scholarship Award has been presented annually to the second year student who most exemplifies professionalism in their practice of Respiratory Therapy. This award was created to honor the memory of Marilyn Taylor, a 1971 graduate of the Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital School of Respiratory Therapy and a respiratory therapist at the hospital for 17 years.
Please join us in congratulating Cindy French as this year’s recipient of the Elizabeth Sanborn LaFollette & Elizabeth LaFollette McInnis ICU Service Award. Cindy was given the award after being nominated by her peers in the Intensive Care Unit at Guthrie Corning Hospital.
Dr. Matthew Novak, chief of the nephrology department and internal medicine residency program director at Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, Pa., has been named to the Pennsylvania Top 40 Physicians Under 40 list by the Pennsylvania Medical Society (PAMED). A representative from PAMED visited the Guthrie Sayre campus last week to present the award. Congratulations to Dr. Novak on this accomplishment.
