Patient ID Wristband Upgrade – Nov. 6

Nov 04, 2016

Beginning on Nov. 6, hospitalized patients (inpatients and outpatients) at Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital, Guthrie Corning Hospital and Guthrie Troy Community Hospital will wear redesigned patient ID wristbands to enhance their safety.  The new bands allow staff members to scan patient's identification code when administering blood products.  This evidence-based process is a welcome addition to our practice.

The switchover will take place Nov. 6 at noon. At that time, every hospitalized patient will be visited to remove their existing ID wristband and replace it with the new version. The process should take approximately 60-90 minutes. Your patience and understanding with this change over is appreciated. If you have questions, please contact Sally Bennett, RN at 570-887-4350.
