Mother of GCMC RN Honored

May 10, 2019

Grace McQueen, mother of Guthrie Cortland Medical Center (GCMC) RN Bonnie Baker, moved to stay at the GCMC Residential Care Facility after suffering injuries from a fall. Grace was a lifelong fabric artist and made hundreds of art pieces of different types. In 2018, her health declined, and she was moved to long term care at Cedar Run where she died peacefully in November of that year.

On Friday, April 12, Grace’s family and Cedar Run staff gathered to honor Grace’s artistry and legacy with a framed quilt for which she had won an award for from the Schweinfurth Art Center in Auburn, N.Y. Pictured below is the family of Grace, including Bonnie Baker, RN at GCMC.
