To help ensure that patients understand their health and treatment before leaving our care, Training & Development is offering four pilot "Health Literacy Essentials" (HLE) classes in support of Population Health.
Key topics will include awareness of health literacy pitfalls, how to clearly communicate numbers, avoiding technical jargon, applying easily understood written information, reflecting on current department health literacy practices and incorporating improvement strategies to drive higher levels of patient satisfaction and more.

- Friday, Oct. 11 AND Oct. 18 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
- Friday, Oct. 11 AND Oct. 18 from 2-5 p.m.
- Tuesday, Oct. 15 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Nursing Lecture Room in Sayre.
- Friday, Oct. 25 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Niagara Conference Room at Guthrie Corning Hospital.
