Guthrie will host a smoking cessation class for members of the community who are ready to quit smoking. The program provides six sessions of cognitive-behavioral therapy to help participants through their first month of quitting, provide support and offer strategies to help people quit and stay that way.
Danielle L. Terry, PhD, Director of Behavioral Science for the Guthrie Family Medicine Residency, will facilitate the program. Dr. Terry has a background in health psychology and has extensive experience with smoking cessation and treatment.
The class will take place Wednesdays from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the Oral Surgery Conference Room on the 5th floor at the Guthrie Clinic in Sayre starting on Jan. 24. Participants must attend all six sessions and co-pay will be collected at the first class. Coverage and co-pay are based on a participant’s insurance.
