Early bird registration is now open for the 10th annual Sayre Turkey Trot 5K, which is run by the Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital Auxiliary. The race takes place each year on Thanksgiving Day. Early bird registration is open until Sept. 30, and runners can pre-register online for just $20 for individual runners or $18 per person for teams. A free Kids’ Fun Run for ages 10 and under will take place in advance of the race. If you would like to register, go to www.sayreturkeytrot.com.
Recent races have seen more than 1,000 runners and walkers cross the finish line in downtown Sayre making this event the largest 5K in Bradford County and a family-friendly holiday celebration like no other. This year’s race will commemorate legacy participants for its 10th anniversary. At that time, participants who completed the race during each of its ten years, including 2016 will be recognized.
This year the event will offer exciting additions for participants:
- Increased cash prizes for the top three male and female finishers, first place taking $100, second place $75, and third $50.
- A long sleeve technical shirt for all online registrants.
- A special edition 10th anniversary free gift for the first 1,000 registered participants.
- Participants who register for and complete a race distance in both the 32nd Annual Guthrie Gallop, held this past May 2016, and 10th Annual Sayre Turkey Trot will receive an exclusive Guthrie Race Series gift.
