Travel Restrictions Updated
Senior Leadership has continued to monitor the prevalence of COVID-19 in our region and follow the governors’ phased re-opening of local economies in New York State and Pennsylvania. At this time, Guthrie leadership is modifying employee travel restrictions and encouraging employees to use their personal judgement when making decisions to travel, attend events and entertain guests from out of town. Restrictions have also been lifted for commercial air travel.
Employees may travel without seeking guidance from the Employee Health Office prior to departure on a trip, although they remain a good resource for any questions. If you become ill after traveling or on your return, contact your health care provider.
You must notify employee health if, upon your return:
- You are experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms (any fever, respiratory symptoms, especially cough or shortness of breath)
- Your travel companions or household members are experiencing symptoms
- You came in contact with individuals who are confirmed as positive for COVID-19
While this is welcomed news, employees are encouraged to be smart about their choices to travel and socialize. Regional increases in prevalence may result in a renewal of restrictions, including travel, which we should strive to avoid. In order to keep our patients and community safe, all current practices for masking and social distancing remain in place on Guthrie campuses.
